Their stories about ENSG-Geomatics
Can you introduce yourself ?
My name is Melodia Mohad, and I studied engineering with a major in Information systems Technologies (TSI).
What motivated you to come to ENSG ?
To be able to combine computer science and geography.
What does it mean to be a geomatics engineer ?
Being a geomatics engineer means being multi-disciplinary and being able to tackle a billion subjects and realise that geographic data is everywhere and it's important to know how to process it.
Where do you work now ?
I work at IGN.
How can I join IGN?
How can I join IGN?When I passed my competitive entrance exam, I was lucky enough to be taken on as a civil servant, so I did my 3 years of studies while being paid. So now I owe the state for 8 years, but it's still cool because being at IGN there are lots of things to develop and lots of possible careers.
Do you have any plans for the future ?
I'd like to move more into cybersecurity because it's important to protect geographical data to prevent it from being disseminated indiscriminately, so I'd like to move more into this area.
Can you tell us about your best memory at ENSG ?
I think it's the first year integration weekend, it's the time when big friendships are forged because there's a lot going on, and you think that if your friends support you at times like this then they're good friends.

Can you introduce yourself ?
My name is Morgane Batelier, I'm 24 years old and I studied engineering with the speciality Fundamentals of Remote Sensingthe (FRS).
What motivated you to come to ENSG ?
When I discovered ENSG I discovered subjects that you don't see in high school or college and that intrigued me and I thought it would be interesting.
What does it mean to be a geomatics engineer ?
For me, being a geomatics engineer means being able to work for the environment in many different ways, linking geography and the environment.
Where do you work now ?
I work for a remote sensing company in Brest.
What are your daily activities ?
I'm in the Data team, and I'm mainly involved in optical or hyperspectral remote sensing missions, and then I process the data.
Do you have any plans for the future ?
I'd like to continue my missions because in remote sensing it's not always easy to find a job where you're doing missions, so I'd like to stay in the field, because at the moment I like it, so I don't see myself changing too much.
Can you tell us about your best memory at ENSG ?
I loved doing the Ocean Hackathon in 2021, it was really great, we really took it seriously and slept for 2 hours over the whole weekend.

Can you introduce yourself ?
My name is Edson Olivares Medina, I'm 26 years old, I did a double degree in engineering. I did 2 years at ENSG and 2 years in a partner school.
What motivated you to come to ENSG ?
It was above all the opportunities and bridges that exist with other schools, particularly in the building and public works sector, and then the IT side that was beginning to attract me.
What double degree did you do ?
I went to an urban planning school, EIVP, which enabled me to link the concepts of GIS and decision-making with urban planning.
What does it mean to be an engineer?
An engineer is someone who will contribute his expertise as a project manager and who will put all his experience and knowledge to work for the customer, looking for solutions to meet a well-targeted or untargeted need, but trying to target it.
Where do you work now ?
I was hired on on a permanent contract after my final year internship, in Rueil-Malmaison in a design office called Ingérop.
What are your daily activities ?
I do BIM project management, 3D models with project-specific information on each object in the model.
Do you have any plans for the future ?
My aim is to improve my skills so that I can become a project manager and manage larger teams.
