Enseignement
- The first two years take place at ENSG-Géomatique, and the teaching program focuses on the following subjects :
- Topometry (surveying, CAD (computer-aided design), auscultation, etc.).
- geodesy (GPS, terrestrial reference systems).
- photogrammetry (processing of aerial photos, DTM, orthoimages, 3D modeling, airborne lidar, terrestrial images).
- remote sensing (analysis and interpretation of satellite images, measurement of environmental parameters, classification, etc.).
- GIS (Geographic Information System) (Qgis, ArcGis...).
- cartography.
- computer development (python, web...).
- mathematics;
- human sciences (languages, law...).
A period of fieldwork is carried out at the ENSG centre in Forcalquier (04), from mid-April to the end of July in the 1st year, and from mid-April to the end of May in the 2nd year.
A 10- to 12-week internship is carried out at the end of the 2nd year.
After these first two years, this course also offers the possibility of joining the Professional Licence, geomatics and environment course in the third year.
- In the third year, following a core curriculum, you take the Imagery specialisation (initial training only). This leads to specialisation in aerial, spatial or terrestrial imagery, for 3D reconstruction of multiple environments. It trains experts in image acquisition and processing systems, point cloud processing and the restitution of qualified models. They can manage projects involving photogrammetry, lasergrammetry, remote sensing and photointerpretation. Part of the third year is spent at our partner, Université Paris 1 Panthéon-Sorbonne.
Civil servant or regular student: there are 2 possible statuses for the same degree.
Whether you're a civil servant or a regular student, you'll follow the same curriculum, with the same courses and the same teachers, all leading to the same degree awarded at the end of the three-year course.
- Civil servant students will be paid during their studies and will join the IGN at the end of their training.
- regular students pay tuition fees and have free access to the world of work, and in some cases may even extend their studies.
It is possible to apply for admission to each of these two pathways in order to increase your chances of joining the ENSG. In the event of double pass, the choice of one or other of these statuses should be made before the start of the academic year.
Admission is subject to application and interview
general high school diploma or reorientation student
Entry requirements
- general high-school diploma
- STI2D baccalauréat (high school diploma)
For the general high-school diploma, it is strongly recommended that you take the "Mathematics" speciality in première and terminale. At the very least, the optional ‘Complementary Mathematics’ course may be chosen in the final year.
Conditions
Students must meet the criteria set out in Parcoursup, i.e. be enrolled in Terminale, or hold a baccalauréat or equivalent qualification.
Applicants are shortlisted on the basis of their academic records and then invited to an interview, which lasts about twenty minutes. The candidate will be given the opportunity to introduce themself and, through questions put by the panel, to explain their motivation for training as a geomatician. The final ranking of candidates will then take into account the initial ranking of candidates during the wish examination board and the distance interview.
Applications are managed on the Parcoursup platform.

Admission through competitive examination
External competition (civil servant status)
